THE JOLIE GENTIL SERIES

Can a real estate appraiser get into this much trouble?  Jolie returns to her New
Jersey beach town and it's not long before she’s found the body of a former
classmate’s mother, danced with a skeleton, and been talked into running the local
food pantry. To think she moved into Aunt Madge’s B&B to have a quieter life...

Appraisal for Murder

Jolie Gentil dumps a husband who spent through their assets and moves to Aunt
Madge's B&B on the Jersey shore.  Soon she's catching up with old friends and
solving a murder.  And trying not to get killed herself.

Rekindling Motives

As she appraises a house, Jolie Gentil finds the skeleton of Richard Tillotson hidden
in an antique attic wardrobe. He vanished in 1929.  When his former girlfriend is
killed just after Jolie meets her, Jolie knows she and friend Scoobie are onto
something.  Between running the food pantry at Christmas time and escaping a
burning building, they hope to figure out who the modern-day killer is before
someone else gets hurt.  Rekindling Motives is available in
paperback or as an
ebook from
Amazon (Kindle) or Smashwords (all other e-formats).

When the Carny Comes to Town

It’s not fun to sit on a plank above the dunk tank at the annual Ocean Alley
Carnival, but it’s for a good cause so Jolie tries to be a good sport. Who knew the
food pantry’s carnival fundraiser could leave Scoobie fighting for his life? Jolie
seeks help from her nemesis, reporter George Winters and her friend Ramona, and
manages to tick off a lot of other people along the way.  She has to find Scoobie’s
attacker before he comes back to finish his handiwork or prey on anyone else.  See
the book in
Kindle, Nook, or for other formats at Smashwords.  Paperback will be
out in late February 2012.
My writing is varied by type (fiction, nonfiction, essays) and subject --
light mysteries, elder care, family history, politics, humor, and more. Take

When the Carny Comes to Town is available for Kindle and Nook.  The
paperback will be out soon. Though she never wanted to sit on the plank
above the dunk tank for the food pantry's carnival fundraiser, Jolie never
dreamed what Scoobie saw that day would leave him battling for his life.
Scoobie's ex-con mother shows up and there's a murder to add to the mix.
Soon Jolie is doing a lot more than appraising real estate, and even that is
complicated by home burglars.  Jolie grudgingly seeks help from reporter
George Winters and tries to stay a step ahead of a kidnapper and
murderer so she can take charge of her world again.  Can she keep her
friends safe? Will Scoobie recover enough to plan another silly fundraiser?
